About Christina
I am a certified (CELTA) English instructor with 10 years of experience teaching English to adults in Canada and overseas. I have worked with university students needing help with academic writing, with job seekers who want to improve their Business English, and with people interested in moving to an English speaking country.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics and Foreign Languages with experience as a Business English Instructor for various multinational corporations in Europe and Russia. I have a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with experience working in Canada for governments and businesses in fields such as: Human Resources, Immigration, Engineering, Parks and Recreation, Finance, Hotel Industry, IT and Learning and Development.
I am passionate about learning and teaching languages and I love to share my excitement about English with my students.

Business English:
My lessons focus on what you need to get the job or promotion you want. I create a customized curriculum and lesson plans to meet your learning goals. Lessons can focus on anything you want, including:

- Learning about business cultures around the world

IELTS Preparation:
You will learn special techniques to improve speaking, listening, reading and writing for the IELTS exam. My lessons also focus on developing your confidence with the vocabulary and grammar structures you need.
The number of lessons depends on what score you want and the level of English you currently have.
Academic Writing:
My lessons focus on improving your writing for university assignments and essays. I have experience using MLA, APA, and Chicago Manual of Style. I will help you learn how to improve the flow and format of your writing. You will learn how to edit and proofread your writing. I will also help you improve your academic vocabulary and grammar.
Conversation Practice:
My conversation lessons focus on improving listening and speaking skills. Conversation practice is a great way to improve your vocabulary and practice grammar structures while speaking. I give my students a topic in advance. At the beginning of the lesson, we will start by looking at a picture or watching a short video. We will review a short list of vocabulary words. Then we will discuss thoughts, opinions and ideas.
I have studied and worked around the world, so I understand the challenges that come with learning a new language for work or study. I will help you use English with confidence to get the job you want or to get the exam score you need.
In my lessons, I develop a curriculum specifically for what you need. I tailor each lesson according to your interests and I make learning materials from sources such as: books, articles, textbooks, websites, videos, etc. During the first lesson, we can discuss your learning goals together.
