About James
I welcome the opportunity to teach you bassoon, at whatever level you're at! I've worked a lot with amateur adult players, young students and also college/conservatory students. No matter how old or young, it's never too late to learn to play this instrument.

If you're serious about learning to play the bassoon, I use the methods I was taught at the Juilliard School. My teachers have included Milan Turkovic, Harold Goltzer, Dennis Godburn, Sylvia Kushner, James Dickie and Carmine Caruso. I basically teach the Simon Kovar method, which I learned at Juilliard. Most of the great bassoonists of the last generation in the U.S. studied with Kovar. I enjoy teaching beginners as well as advanced players!
