About Areena
Hi, I'm Areena and I am a young professional artist. I have shown my work in shows in professional galleries based in the UK (London, Margate, York, Bristol) and internationally (New York)! My work has been featured in Frieze magazine, emergent, Spike Art Magazine and Where's the Frame. I am also a holder of the Global Talent Visa.
I am a personable tutor who is warm and easy to talk to! I have a wide range of interests that not only span art and its different forms (painting, sculpture, video, performance art) but also literature, politics, critical theory and cinema. This range of references, as well as my experience in being a practicing artist, has given my students a unique insight into what their work is in conversation with historically as well as how to develop their own distinctive voice.
My previous experience:
- Tutoring prospective A-level students skills in painting, video editing and dark-room photography at UCL Summer Schools 3 years in a row
- One-to-one tutoring for art school applications with a high success rate

As someone who is a recent Slade School graduate, I have a fresh knowledge of what art schools are looking for in applications that will help you stand out. I received offers from Slade, CSM, Chelsea, Slade and Goldsmiths, allowing me to tailor your application to your desired university. I also graduated with academic awards for photography, high academic achievement and recognition of critical writing.

All lessons begin with an initial meeting where we discuss your personal goals, get to know a bit about who you are and where you're at. I will then send you a tailored lesson plan containing attentive one-to-one sessions where we can get you closer to reaching your personal artistic goals!
Lessons can be held online or in my studio in North London if you prefer a face-to-face lesson. This can also provide an intimate look into how an artist's work develops each week and a space where we can creatively experiment!
