About the lesson

I am a professional actor and graduate English student from Trinity College, Cambridge University. Tutoring is a passion of mine; I began tutoring several years ago for one-to-one acting exams, and moved into classroom assistance for performing arts. From there, I began tutoring informally for sixth-form, school, and university applications - in particular, personal statement surgery and interview preparation.

My primary subjects to teach would be English, History, and all things acting-related (Theatre Studies, Drama, Acting). I strongly believe that confidence in key in students reaching their full potential: I like to teach in an engaging and enjoyable environment, where the student feels able to make mistakes without judgement, and genuinely foster an enjoyment for the subjects in question.

In addition to my English degree, I hold Distinctions in Grade 8 Acting, Acting Shakespeare; I am able to work closely with any text for students, assisting both their understanding and their confidence (particularly with Shakespearean text, which is often feared by students). Whilst in Cambridge, I won an award for my work with 'Shakespeare and the Theatre', and another for a self-composed public declamation.

I am able to tutor up to A-Level.
