About Roel
I myself have a lot of experience in learning languages. As a citizen born in Belgium, I was raised in different languages. Belgium is officially a trilingual country: French, Dutch and German are all official languages. Dutch is my mother tongue, I have been learning French since elementary school. Later, in high school, German and English were added to my curriculum and in college I expanded my language skills by taking a Spanish course. This means that I have been studying foreign languages from elementary school to my university degree, when I was 25 years old. I lived in Australia for years, so English is my second mother tongue. From my experience I have a lot of patience with my students because I understand how it is to learn a new language. I have a half year experience teaching English to Colombians in Medellin.

I take my experiences and knowledge to the field of language teaching and give students the opportunity to look at them from a different perspective than learning English. My goal is to combine my range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic and intelligent teacher who will contribute positively to the community in general. My methodology is more conversational with a clear and extended explanation of grammar. I also teach how to understand different accents in English and use many writing and listening exercises. I always try to vary with interactive lessons and use modern technologies.
