About Carissa
I am a first year teacher, with five years of tutoring experience in all subjects, having worked with students from preschool to college level courses. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Washington focusing on the study of Education, Communities, and Organizations. In the past I have done one-on-one tutoring, small group work, and whole class teaching. I am a highly encouraging and positive individual!

Through my experience I have primarily focused on inquiry-based teaching. Through the engagement of open-ended questions, the students I have taught have been able to stretch their thinking beyond what is the right answer, developing a deeper, more solidified understanding of the material. I use this approach across all grade levels and subjects.
