About Paul
I've directed children's choruses and taught piano in residence at several piano houses in the Capital District. My work in choruses and professional band playing helps me to offer more than just piano lessons to the beginner, but also the experience of playing in these situations. We present an annual recital and the student is provided with a live band to accompany his or her performance.

I start the beginner with traditional classical instruction in order to get the rudiments down. We then move into the modern approach to piano: chord theory and improvisation. I've studied with two of the leading jazz pianists in NJ (Bill Costa & Arnold Jones) and have worked in professional performance, as well as professional instruction and directing situations.

Details
I charge $35.00 per 1/2 hour lesson in your home and $30.00 per 1/2 hour in my home. As I generally run over the allotted time, you only need add $10.00 for the next 1/2 hour. Skype rates are the same as in my home. However, I will not teach on Skype without first having had some sessions with the beginning student.
