About Alexandra
My name is Alexandra Frank. I am a student at Princeton University and taking a gap year in the wake of COVID. I was a student for 13 years at The Spence School in New York, NY and a pre-professional Ballet Dancer with Manhattan Youth Ballet. While carrying a 3.9 GPA, I danced every day during middle and high school as a part of a pre professional dance program for the past 9 years. I am also a passionate mathematician (I was a part of Spence’s math team from fifth through twelfth grade and was one of its core members), computer scientist, writer, and debater (I was a core member of Spence’s debate team from freshman through senior year).
My love of Computer Science inspired me to start the Computer Science team at Spence in which we regularly competed in the ASCL. I am also the founder & visionary of Spencehacks, a hackathon of over 100 students, to encourage girls in computer science and to help reach one or more of the 17 UN SDGs.
I have decided that I would like to tutor high school and maybe middle school children online in academics and to help with college admissions advising. I have a decent track record of both - I was accepted into Princeton, Cornell, USC, UMich, Carnegie Mellon and UCSD. I attained waitlist status at UPenn, Northwestern, Columbia, NYU, UCLA and UCSB, and all for engineering.
I have always loved teaching others what I know. I firmly believe that explaining material to others is vital to remembering the learned material in the long term. My desire to keep myself sharp and to help others learn has led me to begin tutoring. I am willing to teach math through pre-calc (I have taken courses in both calculus and linear algebra during high school), English, and Computer Science. I am also available to advise students who are preparing to apply to college as well as to provide assistance with essays.
