I am currently a dental student at a Russel group university an I have achieved A* at chemistry a level and GCSE. My students have also all passed their chemistry exams with 95% getting an A/A*

My teaching methodology differs for each student. I approach my lessons very student-oriented. I first learn what my student’s strengths and weaknesses are and then which teaching method works best for them eg. A tutorial through a topic or guided past paper questions or question and answer etc.
My typical lesson plan would be based on a student request eg. Respiration. I would first teach a section, then ask the student to explain it to me and following that we would go through some past paper questions to see how it could be asked in an exam situation. I’d allow time for the student to make notes alongside my resources and I would follow my student’s pace as I believe that learning can not be rushed and is a process that must be correctly supported.
