About Darrel
I help professionals and adult learners turn complex or crowded thoughts into a message an audience can follow. My feedback is specific, supportive and focused on what to change and practise.
As Co-Founder of NLX, I analyse organisational problems and present clear conclusions to leaders. I have published organisational-performance thinking through theHRDIRECTOR. My earlier work as a DVSA driving examiner required precise, calm communication in high-pressure situations.
I have completed the ILM Level 6 Diploma in Leadership and Management; diploma delivery and confirmation of post-nominal entitlement are pending.
We can work on a presentation, interview, meeting contribution or talk. I help you find the central message, organise the material and practise delivery without making you sound scripted. Sessions are adapted to your starting point and preferred pace.

Have a presentation, interview or important meeting coming up? Bring your talk, slides or ideas and we will work on making your message clearer and your delivery easier to follow. Online sessions are for professionals and adult learners, including people who find it difficult to organise crowded thoughts.
In your first paid session, we will agree the audience and purpose, improve a key section and practise delivering it. You will leave with specific edits and a clear rehearsal priority. You can start with an unfinished idea; a polished slide deck is not required.
We can work on structure, cutting unnecessary detail, slide order, speaker notes, pacing, timing, transitions and handling questions. Feedback is supportive and specific, so you know what to practise next.
To enquire, send me three things: what you are preparing for, when it is happening and the part you find hardest. For example: 'I have a work presentation in two weeks and struggle to keep it concise.'
The free 30-minute introductory conversation lets us discuss your challenge, ask questions and agree a suitable starting point. Detailed slide work and rehearsal take place in paid sessions.

I have known Darrel for many years personally and professionally and his passion for supporting neurodivergent people has always been evident
His enthusiasm, knowledge, and genuine commitment to helping others make a real difference.
I have attended several of Darrels sessions and they have been worth every penny. Not only have they had a significant impact on me personally but they have also helped me develop my understanding of AI, enabling me to work more effectively and confidently in my professional role
What sets Darrel apart is his warm, supportive and non judgmental approach. He creates a comfortable environment where people feel understood, valued and empowered to learn and grow
Whether you’re struggling to manage your neurodivergence or trying to navigate the rapidly evolving world of AI, Darrel has a unique ability to make complex topics accessible and practical
He also provides outstanding value for money, delivering high quality support, insight and guidance.
I cannot recommend Darrel highly enough. If you’re considering working with him, give him a try, you won’t be disappointedDarrel has a natural ability to help people look at situations differently and get beyond the surface of a problem.
His approach isn’t about telling someone what they should do or giving them all the answers. Instead, he asks the right questions, challenges assumptions and helps people work through situations for themselves, building confidence in their own decisions along the way.
One of his real strengths is recognising that everyone thinks, communicates and processes information differently. He adapts his approach to the individual rather than expecting the individual to adapt to him, creating an environment that feels supportive, patient and non-judgemental.
He is particularly good at taking situations that feel complicated or overwhelming and breaking them down into something clearer and more manageable. Importantly, he is also willing to challenge someone when needed rather than simply telling them what they want to hear.
I would highly recommend Darrel to anyone looking for an approachable and thoughtful coach who will genuinely listen, challenge their thinking and help them find a way forward that works for them.Darrel is a dedicated and highly organised History teacher who is passionate about helping students achieve their full potential. His lessons are carefully planned, well-structured, and tailored to each student's needs, making even challenging historical topics clear and engaging.
Students and parents particularly value his detailed feedback, which helps identify strengths, address areas for improvement, and build confidence for exams. With his patient approach and thorough preparation, Darrel creates a supportive learning environment where students can make consistent progress and develop a deeper understanding of History.I'm finding my sessions with Darrel insightful and extremely helpful. He has a great toolkit of strategies and suggestions that can help with situations and challenges that I face as someone neurodiverse. Darrel communicates with empathy and care, and I find it easy to be open and vulnerable with him. Highly recommend Darrel!
