About Archie
Music quickly became the focal point of my life after picking up the guitar for the first time at 8 years old. I was brought up on everything from classic rock to house music and continue to diversify my playing as my career progresses.
After graduating from Leeds Conservatoire with First Class Honours in Jazz Guitar, I moved to London to continue my studies at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. I'm regularly performing my original music as a bandleader around London, as well as featuring in other projects as a sideman.
Alongside playing jazz, I am in a noise/shoegaze band based in Leeds and regularly play for indie/pop artists around London, having played at cult venues like Belgrave Music Hall and Brudenell Social Club, and festivals such as All Points East.
My portfolio in music doesn't only include education and live music, I am also well-versed in music production, recording guitar and other instruments in studio environments, and working collaboratively with other musicians.
My experiences in both live performance and studio/collaborative environments go hand-in-hand, allowing me to adapt to any aims and objectives a student brings to a lesson.

My lessons always revolve around the student's aims and interests, establishing a clear path of progression and breaking down goals into achievable steps.
With over a decade of experience playing an array of genres, I teach a range of topics including:
- Guitar Syllabus (Rockschool, ABRSM, Trinity etc.)
- Learning your favourite songs
- Improvisation
- Music Theory and Ear Training
- Composition/Songwriting
- Technique
As well as traditional guitar lessons, I also offer insights into using effects pedals creatively, as well as using DAWs like Ableton and Logic Pro to create alternative and experimental guitar sounds.

Archie has been a massive help in my guitar playing. He breaks down difficult concepts into small steps and makes lessons fun. Would highly recommend, and he is well worth his money in knowledge. :)
