About Jennifer
I have worked in education for more than ten years with children as young as two years old, to college students. I earned my Master's degree in Literature, and have published book reviews and a contribution to an online historical website. Attending conferences and trainings specifically geared toward teaching reading and writing strategies has given me a broad range of techniques to help students learn everything from basic skills to complex literature analysis. Teaching first-year college English during COVID gave me the opportunity to learn best practices for online teaching, and strengthened my creativity with lessons and presentations.

I use strategies that break down concepts into manageable chunks that build upon each other. There are frequent "check-ins" to ensure comprehension, and regular reviews to strengthen skills. Questions and participation are encouraged because learning is not a passive process. I use suggestions from students for content as often as possible because material that is interesting to the learning results in better engagement.
