About Rachel
I graduated Princeton magna cum laude with a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing. After college, I worked as a journalist and professional researcher. I am now a poetry MFA student at NYU, where I teach an intro Creative Writing course to undergraduate students.
I've worked with peers on their graduate school applications, editing essays for English PhD programs, law schools, medical schools, and physicians assistant programs.

A news editor once told me: if you can't write something clearly, it's probably because you don't know what you're trying to say. I took this to mean that writing and thinking are connected, and good writing comes from clarifying what you don't understand.
If we were to work together on college application essays or graduate school personal statements, it wouldn't just look like me handing back a marked-up page. We would spend time talking through your ideas, discussing what isn't clear, and ensuring that the final work expresses your voice as well as possible.
