About Daleen
Hello! My name is Daleen, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to support you on your English-learning journey.
I am a reliable, patient, hardworking, and caring teacher who genuinely enjoys working with children. I believe that learning should be a positive and enjoyable experience where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, practise, and grow in confidence.
My teaching style is friendly, encouraging, and student-centred. I adapt my lessons to suit each learner's age, level, interests, and individual needs. Through conversation, games, visual activities, repetition, and practical examples, I aim to make every lesson engaging and meaningful.
I am proficient in both English and Afrikaans, and I am comfortable communicating with learners and parents in these languages. My lessons focus on developing practical English skills, including speaking, listening, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, and grammar.
I am committed to being professional and well-prepared for every lesson. I understand that every learner progresses at their own pace, and I will always encourage students with patience and positivity while helping them reach their goals.
Whether you are just beginning to learn English or want to become more confident communicating in English, I would love to help you. My goal is for every student to finish each lesson feeling successful, confident, and excited to learn more.

As a private tutor, I believe that every child learns differently. My goal is to create a friendly, patient, and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable, confident, and excited to learn.
My teaching methodology is interactive, encouraging, and student-centred. I use conversation, games, repetition, visual materials, questions, and real-life examples to make lessons engaging and meaningful. I focus not only on teaching English, but also on helping students build confidence and enjoy using the language. What makes me unique is my caring and patient approach. I take the time to understand each learner's needs, interests, and learning style and adapt my lessons accordingly.
I am proficient in English and Afrikaans and can communicate comfortably in both languages. My English lessons are designed to help learners improve their speaking, listening, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, and basic grammar skills.
A typical lesson with me is relaxed, fun, and interactive. We begin with a friendly greeting and a short warm-up before introducing the lesson topic. We then practise new vocabulary and language skills through conversation, activities, pictures, questions, and age-appropriate exercises. I encourage students to speak as much as possible and provide positive correction and encouragement throughout the lesson. We finish by reviewing what we have learnt and celebrating the student's progress.
My lessons are mainly aimed at young learners and beginners to intermediate English students. I particularly enjoy working with children who are developing their confidence in speaking English and need a patient teacher who can make learning enjoyable.
Above all, I want every student to leave my lesson feeling proud of what they have learnt, more confident than when they started, and excited for the next lesson.
