About Emil
Hi, I’m a piano tutor with over 8 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Piano. I have a deep passion for music composition and songwriting, and I love sharing that creativity with my students. My teaching style is fun, engaging, and personalised to fit each learner’s goals and pace. I work with students of all ages—from school kids to college students, adults, and professionals. Whether you’re a beginner or advanced player, I tailor lessons to help you grow confidently. My expertise includes chord theory, sight-reading, performance skills, and improvisation, which are all key to becoming a well-rounded musician. I’ve helped students progress from Intermediate to Advanced levels, and even supported those at the Professional and Expert stages. My goal is to create a supportive environment where you feel inspired to explore and express your unique musical voice. My teaching approach to piano lessons is personalised and focused on building a strong foundation in technique and musicianship. I emphasise proper keyboard technique to ensure comfortable and efficient playing. Ear training is an important part of every lesson, helping students develop better listening skills and musical awareness. I also integrate music theory in a practical way, so students understand the notes and rhythms they play. Performance skills are nurtured gradually through practice and confidence-building exercises. For students who learn quickly, I provide challenging pieces and improvisation opportunities to keep them engaged. For adults learning piano as a hobby, lessons are paced with patience and flexibility to ensure enjoyment and steady progress. I use a variety of teaching tools and resources to make lessons interactive and fun. My goal is to help every student grow, whether they aim for advanced playing or simply want to enjoy music. I focus on encouraging creativity, discipline, and a lifelong love of piano.
