John “Mike” Walsom, is an incredible person, friend, and player. My years taking lessons with Mike were so wonderful. He got to understand who I was not only as a player, but how I learned best, what my goals were, and how to go about teaching a stubborn, cocky, little kid. He was a friend to me when I needed, and always pushed me to go bigger. I started my 4 years of taking lessons from Mike as a beginner when I was 13. I am now 22, currently make a significant amount of my living playing music, thanks to his teaching and inspiration.

John Michael Walsom has the extremely rare qualities of vast musical knowledge, tremendous integrity, and a true commitment to the success of his students. After learning from him for over ten years, I can say with absolute certainty that ‘Mike’ is simply the best teacher you could choose.

Mike has been a gift to me from the world. He's made me understand concepts I made to hard in my own head. He's given me the skills and confidence to go out and become the musician I wanted to be and am happily gigging frequently and paying some bills from time to time. I look at Mike and more then just my teacher but as one of my really good friends. I am really lucky to have been able to come across given how many teachers are out there. I honestly couldn't recommend someone more ( in any profession ) then I can with Mike as a teacher.
