About Raven
I am a passionate piano tutor with 9 years of teaching experience and a master’s degree in music education. My journey with the piano began in early childhood and evolved into a professional path shaped by both academic study and hands-on teaching. I believe in combining structured learning with creative exploration to make each lesson meaningful and enjoyable. Over the years, I’ve taught students of all ages, from young beginners to adult learners, each with their own goals and learning styles. My approach is adaptable, focusing on building technical skills while also nurturing musical expression and confidence. I emphasize clear communication and patience, making sure students feel supported every step of the way. I specialize in areas such as sight-reading, music theory, improvisation, and performance coaching. I’ve guided students through graded exams, school recitals, and personal music projects, always encouraging a strong work ethic and a love for music. My teaching draws from a blend of classical methods and modern techniques to stay engaging and effective. Above all, I’m committed to helping students discover their musical voice and grow at their own pace. I view teaching as more than instruction—it’s a partnership in learning. Piano lessons are crafted to meet the unique goals and abilities of each student, whether starting from scratch or seeking to refine existing skills. Beginners are guided through the fundamentals of finger positioning, rhythm, and reading music, building a strong technical foundation in an engaging and supportive setting.
As students advance, lessons incorporate more complex elements such as scales, arpeggios, improvisation, and expressive phrasing. Classical pieces, contemporary music, and custom exercises are used to strengthen technique and musical interpretation. Emphasis is placed on developing both accuracy and creativity in performance.
Each session is structured to balance discipline with enjoyment, encouraging consistent progress and confidence. Students receive tailored practice strategies, regular feedback, and optional performance opportunities to enhance their learning experience. Sight-reading and ear training are also included to round out musical development.
