I hold a B.Mus in Piano Performance and an MA in Music Education, with 10 years of experience teaching students of all ages and abilities. My expertise covers technical skills, sight-reading, musical interpretation, improvisation, ensemble playing, and performance preparation. I emphasize a student-centered approach, balancing discipline with creative exploration, fostering technical mastery and expressive musicianship. I integrate exercises, repertoire study, theory, ear training, and performance coaching to help students achieve their goals, whether academic, professional, or personal. Lessons are tailored to develop confidence, independence, and joy in music-making. Outside teaching, I engage with both classical and contemporary piano repertoire, attend performances, and explore pedagogical innovations to enrich lessons. I guide students through recitals, collaborative projects, and creative challenges. Witnessing learners grow into skilled, expressive, and confident pianists is profoundly fulfilling. I emphasize finger independence, hand coordination, posture, tone production, sight-reading, rhythm, scales, arpeggios, dynamics, and musical interpretation. Lessons integrate repertoire, improvisation, ear training, music theory, and ensemble collaboration to build versatile pianists. I create a supportive and inspiring environment encouraging students to explore their musical ideas while developing confidence and artistry.
Lessons are customized for each level. Beginners focus on fundamentals: posture, hand coordination, notation, and simple pieces. Intermediate students refine technique, learn complex repertoire, and develop musical interpretation. Advanced learners explore virtuosic techniques, expressive phrasing, improvisation, and performance preparation. Each session balances structured exercises with creative exploration, fostering technical mastery and artistic growth.
Students gain technical skill, interpretive insight, and performance confidence. I guide learners in musical interpretation, sight-reading, collaborative playing, and expressive delivery. Lessons also develop practice strategies, independence, and musical sensitivity.
