About Tan
I am a classically trained pianist with ABRSM Piano Grade 8 and Music Theory Grade 7, and over five years of teaching experience working with students across a wide range of ages and abilities. My lessons are structured, focused, and tailored to each student’s needs, with clear goals set for technique, musical understanding, and practice discipline. I place strong emphasis on proper fundamentals and effective practice methods, ensuring students make steady, measurable progress rather than relying on rote repetition. Lessons typically last 30 to 60 minutes, depending on age and level, and are conducted in a professional, supportive environment. I work with students from beginner to Grade 8, including those preparing for graded examinations or learning piano for long-term musical development, and I am committed to maintaining high standards of teaching and consistency in every lesson.

Lessons are structured and goal-oriented, with clear weekly targets, and are tailored to each student’s level and learning pace. Typical lessons are 30–60 minutes, depending on age and level. I hold ABRSM Piano Grade 8 and Music Theory Grade 7, with over 5 years of teaching experience, and have prepared students for graded exams as well as school performances. Lessons are suitable for beginners to Grade 8, typically ages 5 and above, including students learning for exams or personal interest.
