About Steven P
I hold two degrees in piano from the University of Oregon. I have five years' experience teaching private piano students of all levels (focused on beginners). My repertoire includes hundreds of public performances of solo classical, chamber music, concertos, contemporary and experimental music, art songs, opera and musical theater accompaniment, sacred music and organ, as well as improvisation and performances of my own work. I have performed in the US and Canada, presenting my work in concerts ranging from Oregon to Nova Scotia, as well as in New York, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, and California. I have also taught college-level composition classes at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, and am currently a Musician-In-Residence for the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins.

I can teach a wide variety of levels and styles, ranging from absolute beginners learning the basics of classical or pop to advanced students exploring improvisation or masterpieces! I integrate theory, technique, and musicality into an adaptable curriculum, covering many styles and genres.
