About Drew
In my physics lessons, I bring together traditional concepts with the power of computation to make learning exciting and practical. My nurturing and personalized approach encourages you to explore physics through computer modeling, data visualization, and numerical methods. We will dive into scientific programming basics using hands-on coding exercises and simulations. This way, you not only understand theory but also see how physics works in real time. By working with simulations, you’ll learn to solve complex problems that are hard to tackle by hand. Whether you’re new to coding or have some experience, I tailor lessons to help you grow your skills confidently. My goal is to support you in mastering computational tools that open up new ways to explore physics. Together, we’ll use technology to visualize data, model physical systems, and develop problem-solving techniques. This approach helps you connect physics concepts to real-world applications. You will gain valuable skills that are important in research and modern science.

I am a Physics tutor with over 8 years of teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Medical Physics. My expertise lies at the intersection of physics and materials science, particularly focusing on defects and phase transitions in materials. I specialize in making complex concepts like crystal defects, grain boundaries, diffusion, and phase diagrams clear and engaging. Using visual examples and real-world applications—such as steel and other engineered materials—I help students connect theory to practice. My lessons go beyond textbooks, bringing materials science to life through interactive discussions and illustrations.
I have worked extensively with university students and researchers aiming to deepen their understanding of material properties at a microscopic level. Whether you’re studying for exams or conducting research, I tailor lessons to your specific needs and goals. My approach is hands-on, visual, and grounded in real-world science.
Together, we explore how tiny imperfections and atomic movements affect the strength, durability, and behavior of materials. I believe that understanding these microscopic origins is key to mastering physics and materials science. My goal is to help you become a well-rounded, confident physicist who can analyze and explain the macroscopic properties of engineered materials.
