About Shan

I am a qualified Teacher and experienced Physics tutor with 7+ years of education experience providing one-to-one tuition from 11+ through to GCSE, IGCSE, O-Level, and A-Level Physics.

I hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK and have extensive experience teaching and supporting students in mathematically rigorous subjects. My academic background includes a BSc in Accounting & Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), alongside ongoing postgraduate study in Mathematics, which strongly underpins my Physics teaching.

Alongside private tutoring, I have worked as a Further Education (FE) College lecturer, teaching GCSE and A-Level students and supporting learners with a wide range of abilities and learning styles. This classroom experience allows me to adapt explanations effectively for students who find Physics challenging or intimidating.

My sessions are reserved for students and families who value clarity, structure, and long-term confidence building, particularly in subjects that require careful reasoning and precision.

Prior Tutee Testimonials:

Shan is an incredible tutor! He is very committed to ensuring that I fully understand topics which I initially found tricky and overwhelming. By breaking them down into manageable sections, I find myself becoming more confident in Maths and Economics. I appreciate the way he makes lessons so much more enjoyable, especially since these subjects seemed so daunting and complicated at first."

About the lesson

My Physics lessons are calm, structured, and exam-focused, with a strong emphasis on helping students understand the underlying principles before applying them to exam-style questions. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s syllabus and exam board, and typically includes clear explanation, worked examples, and guided practice.

I place particular emphasis on mathematical application within Physics, ensuring students are confident using equations, rearranging formulae, and presenting clear working to secure marks. This approach is especially effective for students who struggle with exam technique, problem-solving, or time pressure.

Lessons are fully personalised and progressive, helping students build confidence, improve accuracy, and develop the independence required to tackle unfamiliar Physics questions under exam conditions.

11+ Physics (Foundational Science Support):
