About Izzy
I am an experienced, and fully DBS checked, maths and physics tutor. I have a Master’s degree in Physics and Philosophy (1st Class Honours) from the University of Bristol and have used my passion and knowledge for maths and physics to help young people of all abilities to excel in their studies. Over the last few years, I have tutored dozens of pupils, all of whom have seen significant increases in their grade predictions, going up sets, and improving in their confidence and love of the subject.

My tutoring strategy is two-pronged: solid foundation through rigorous understanding, and consolidation through practice and worked examples. All of my lessons include both of these elements. A solid foundational understanding allows the student to apply the concepts to new domains and problems that he/she will encounter beyond the examples covered. And consolidation through practice allows the absorption and internalisation of the new ideas so that over time they become second nature. I offer: - Subjects: maths, further maths, physics and philosophy - Qualification levels: A-levels, Foundation Courses, University Physics, Philosophy and Engineering Maths - University physics and engineering maths subjects: calculus (real analysis), multivariable/vector calculus, statistics, probability, logic, linear algebra, complex analysis, differential equations; mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, relativity (and relativistic field theory), quantum mechanics, analytical mechanics - Boards: Edexcel, AQA, OCR, CIE, and others - Types: Tutoring and courses (for those not in a school framework, or learning it for the first time) - Sessions are usually weekly and 1 hour long, followed by tailored worksheets for the student to do - Online, or in person at my place (North West London on the Northern Line) For online lessons, I use a writing pad and software that allow for easy writing and communication on the screen. I encourage my students to get it as well for an affordable price.
