About Chloe
My name is Chloe, I completed a bachelors and masters degree in Physics at the University of Edinburgh. Following this I completed my PhD in medical data science at the university of Sheffield. I now work as a postdoctoral researcher working on climate modelling and data analysis at the university of Edinburgh.
I love teaching Maths and Physics, as these are topics I am really passionate about, I enjoy helping students build up their confidence and develop an interest and enthusiasm for learning. I am aware that many people struggle with maths based subjects at school, and I endeavour to provide a stress free environment to build up confidence and gain ability to pass exams. I also love to work with higher achieving students to attain top grades, and I am happy to provide advice for entering the field of science and research within academia.

I offer in person one-to-one lessons. These can be 1 or 2 hours long depending on your preference and what works best for the student. I am happy to travel to anywhere within Edinburgh for these lessons.
I have been teaching secondary school maths and physics for over 8 years. I have particular experience helping students through their exams (GCSEs/SQAs, and A-levels/Scottish Highers). I can provide a significant number of references from students who I helped achieve A/A* grades. I will happily help any student whatever level they are working at.
I provide lessons that can be student led - where the student brings their own homework, work sheets, past papers, or topics to the session and we work through what they have. Alternatively I can provide guided lesson plans working through a specific syllabus or set of topics. This can alternate week by week depending on what is most helpful for the student.
For exam preparation I focus particularly on helping my students feel confident in interpreting and answering exam questions. I build confidence by gradually increasing the difficulty of the questions. I also provide step by step guides for answering different types of questions.
