About Alif

I am a theoretical physics PhD student at UCL who holds a first-class honours MSci Physics degree from UCL. I have many years of tutoring experience and also employed as a postgraduate teaching assistant at my university. I have completed my GCSEs and A-levels in the UK with A* grades achieved.

About the lesson

As a former GCSE and A-level student who has achieved A* in all of their subjects I am aware of the standards needed to make sure that the highest possible grade can be achieved. My lesson plan (subject to change based on the student’s needs) is as follows: 1) Targeted Learning: I identify your weak areas and create a tailored plan to build confidence and understanding step by step. 2) Master the Subject: We’ll dive deep into topics that you are least confident with, while also reinforcing your strengths to make sure no gaps remain. 3) Exam-Ready Practice: With focused problem-solving sessions and detailed feedback, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to tackle any question and aim for top marks.

I worked with Alif on various theoretical and experimental physics topics over this year during my masters. He has a very methodical and strategic approach to Physics, such that over time he builds intuition on the subject and becomes good at it. I am very impressed by his grasp of Physics and his ability to know what assumptions or approximations are used for a problem. This lets him apply the correct method for a given problem, thus securing top marks.

For this reason, Alif will be a fantastic tutor in helping out any student gain top marks in Physics education, whether that is at school level (GCSE/Alevel/IB) or at university level. He will able to pass down his strategies and help students get top marks.

I highly recommend Alif.

Alif is one of the smartest people I know, effortlessly picking up complex physics topics and explaining them clearly and intuitively. He is patient, understanding, and will always make sure you fully grasp a concept if you need help with it. If you want a tutor who genuinely knows what they're talking about and has the qualifications to back it up, Alif is an excellent choice.
