About Cian
My name is Cian, I am a 24 year old PhD researcher from Dublin. I am an experienced teacher with five years teaching experience. My life was changed by passionate and hardworking teachers who were aware of my interests and abilities. Therefore, I take great pride in being a teacher, I put a lot of effort into my lessons and I try to develop my lessons in accordance with my students' abilities and interests.

At first I assess what kind of learner you are and I customise my classes to your needs and your abilities. I have five years teaching experience and I understand how to work with students with diverse learning skills and abilities. I mainly teach English literature, English language and music theory. I also do guitar lessons.
I am a very passionate teacher, I make sure that my lessons are memorable and I ensure that my students are learning. I ask each of my students what they would like to achieve by attending my lessons. For example, some of my students may want to pass an English literature exam, others may want to learn how to play guitar. I then carefully craft a lesson plan that will help to achieve this aim.
I do a lot of preparation before each lesson. I have a knowledge of what areas of the brain need to be stimulated in order for learning to flourish and I use materials with this in mind. I use audio, visual and reading props to reinforce whatever we are working on. Throughout the lesson, I will make sure that you are learning and that you are enjoying the lesson.
I have a B.A. in English and film studies from University College Dublin. I have a first-class honours M.A. degree in Music and Technology from Munster Technological University. Last year, I received a fully funded scholarship from the Arts and Humanities Research Council in the UK to complete a PhD in Music and Philosophy.
I have taught for over 5 years at two online teaching companies including TutorABC and Whale English. I taught a variety of ages and abilities. I was trained throughout this time and I now have my TEFL and TESOL certificates.
