About Thimo
I am a final year PhD researcher in Economics at the University of Leuven in Belgium. I hold Masters and Advanced Masters Degree in Economics (both with Great Distinction) from the same university.
As a PhD researcher, I use econometric models to analyze data, and study empirical questions in labor economics. I have also been a teaching assistant for a Master's level course on Applied Econometrics and a PhD level course on structural dynamic models.

I help students understand the theory and the applications of various econometric estimators (e.g. OLS, 2SLS, Diff-in-Diff, etc.) and structural models. To do so, I draw from previous experiences of tutoring in the private sector, and from being a teaching assistant at the University of Leuven for Master-level courses in Applied Econometrics. I try to teach through concrete examples, and make extensive use of visualizations and simulations to help students gain intuition. I also give advice on the analyses, writing, and structure of dissertation projects.
