About Andrea
I am an experienced tutor in Politics and International Relations with an enthusiasm for learning and teaching. I have extensive knowledge in History, Politics and International Relations while I am also specialized in European Union studies, including foreign policy, external action and democracy. I can be particularly helpful to students looking to develop their conceptual, theoretical and critical thinking skills and improve their essay writing and overall assessments.
I also acted as a Research Assistant for three years for two Horizon Europe projects on the EU’s foreign policy and external action and engaged in new and existing research and published in high-quality academic journals. I can therefore help students eager to develop their research skills, particularly in relation to theoretical and methodological issues as well as the overall analytical framework of their work.
I am an avid reader, an amateur baker and enjoy good coffee and exercising, including at the gym and the boxing ring. I also share a passion for good stationery, and I cannot walk outside without saying hi to a dog. As someone from Cyprus, I mostly enjoy a sunny, warm day but I can appreciate a cosy, rainy day.

I hope that as a tutor I can spark curiosity and enthusiasm in my students regarding their subject while helping them build their confidence in learning and maximise their conceptual and theoretical understanding as well as to improve their writing and critical thinking skills. I want to help students build a sense of autonomy in learning while also receiving the necessary support and resources to excel. Therefore, my philosophy is that a student is also a decision-maker and co-creator of learning and together we can make a lesson plan that best suits their needs, helps them overcome challenges and cultivates both their subject knowledge and general study skills, including in note-taking and essay writing.
