About Shaunak
Hey! I’m Shaunak — a molecular biologist who somehow survived a PhD and an EMBO postdoc… so trust me, I’ve seen enough confusing biology to know how to make it simple.
I’ve taught lots of students over the years, from school kids who hated DNA to university students panicking before exams. My goal is always the same: make biology feel less like a monster and more like a subject you can actually enjoy.
I explain things in a relaxed, friendly way — no fancy jargon, no judgement, and definitely no “you should already know this.” Ask me anything, even the basics. We’ll laugh, learn, and slowly turn all those “I don’t get this!” moments into “Ohhh that makes sense!”
If you need help with biology, biochemistry, genetics, protein stuff, cell stuff, or anything science-y, I’ve got your back. Whether it’s homework, exams, or a research project, we’ll work through it step by step.
Let’s make biology fun instead of frightening.

About the Lesson
I teach Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, and all the cool things happening inside cells — but in a way that actually makes sense and doesn’t put you to sleep.
My lessons feel more like a conversation than a lecture. We laugh, we draw weird diagrams, and we slowly make the “scary” topics feel simple.
How I Teach (a.k.a. My Game Plan)
On day one, I try to understand you — your goals, your level, and what exactly is stressing you out.
Then I explain each topic in simple words, real stories from the lab, and diagrams that look like they were drawn by a friendly scientist (because… they are).
I keep asking small questions throughout the lesson — not to test you, but to keep you awake and involved.
A Typical Lesson
Quick recap so your brain warms up
Deep dive into the topic with notes, drawings, examples
Problem-solving together (don’t worry, I don’t leave you hanging)
A short summary to make sure everything sticks
If you need help writing lab reports, preparing research presentations, or trying to understand confusing lecture notes — I’ve got you.
Thesis / Dissertation Support
I can help you turn “I don’t know where to start” into a clean, organised thesis plan.
I guide you with:
chapter structure
figure making
writing & editing
proofreading
reference management
Basically, I’m the person who stops your thesis from slowly destroying your life.
What Makes My Lessons Different
I’m a PhD graduate and former EMBO Postdoctoral Fellow who has worked in top labs — but I keep my teaching simple, calm, and friendly.
I bring real research experience and turn tough concepts into things you actually understand.
Who Is This For?
University students (UG/Masters)
School students preparing for advanced biology exams
Anyone who wants to learn molecular biology, biochemistry, or genetics without feeling overwhelmed
Students who want help starting or surviving a research project
If you want lessons that are clear, supportive, and a little bit fun — I’m here.

Perfect! Amazing teacher. Provides helpful and imformative also simple material on topics you are studying for. He is helpful with basic and other levels of biology especially good with understanding plant biology. Highly recommend him for helping to pass not only school work but also college and uni work aswell.
- It was a real pleasure teaching James, who contacted me for support with his HND Horticulture with Plantsmanship course. We worked through the basics of plant cell biology, including cell structure, mitosis, meiosis and genetics.Shaunak's response :
I particularly enjoyed working with James on Punnett squares and discussing some of the very interesting questions he raised during our lessons. He was always keen to understand the concepts rather than simply memorise them, which made the sessions very enjoyable.
James is a very good student and has made great progress. I wish him all the very best with his course and for the future.
