About Garry
I am a practitioner of illustration, design, film and writing/editing. I have been working in these fields for over 15 years, gaining plenty of experience and skills. I've worked with people of all ages, including young people and school students, on visual art and creative practice, as well as fiction and creative non-fiction.
My real world and community arts experience combine with my MLitt and PhD in English, as well as my experience of teaching at undergrad level, to round out a suite of skills that I use to help tutor pupils of GCSE level and above, including university tuition.
I work collaboratively with pupils to help engage them in the way that works best for them.

Lessons are a minimum of 1 hour long but can be longer depending on need. I work collaboratively with pupils, working out their preferred learning styles, and teaching through active experience, project work, discussions and modelling.
I have been a workshop facilitator for over 15 years, and have been mentoring writers for 5 years. I have several years experience of teaching at undergrad university level in film and creative writing, and also bring my real world experience of publishing books and comics to the table.
