About Mthokozisi
I am a PhD student researching Astrophysics and Cosmology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban. I did my Master's course with the National Astrophysics Space and Science Program (NASSP) UCT (2015). I've been a visiting student at the University of Pennsylvania, USA (2015). Exchange Student at the University of Toronto (2016). I've been tutoring Physics and Applied Mathematics for undergraduates since 2014. I also do mentorship; I have a few successful mentees in the field of science, and I have a new mentee doing second year in BSc Applied Chemistry. Last year, he got the Dean's Commendation for two semesters, was awarded top student in 1st year Chemistry, and has been selected to be a member of Golden Key International. I do Science outreach under Ikusaselihle NGO.

My teaching methodology is a combination of starting with a physical phenomenon, developing an understanding of the situation at hand, and deriving the mathematical nature of the physical phenomenon at hand, hence summarizing them in the form of principles, laws, and axioms. This approach allows both the teacher and the student to collaborate on understanding and solving a problem. This is done using experiments (mini lab experiments and thought experiments), computer simulations, and direct observation. This leaves a student with a great insight into a particular subject in Physics and Mathematics, therefore they can handle any problems.
