About Angela
Ciao, I’m Angela. I've been living in Canada since 2016. I was lucky enough to be born, grow up, and study in Rome. Although I have a love for teaching Italian as a language, the Italian culture is such a big part of the country and I love to share my knowledge with students so that they can get a more immersive experience. When I have the opportunity, I am happy to do Italian cooking lessons. I have a degree in Sociology and Communication. I also have plenty of teaching experience as I have been teaching Italian to English expats in Italy and have taught Italian since the day I moved here back in 2016. I taught a student who wanted to learn the language for their upcoming trip, others who want to be able to communicate with their family back home, and some who love the language. I have had students of all ages, from kids to teens and adults. Hope to see you soon!

I pride myself in making a personalized plan for each student based on his or her interests, level, and goals as I believe this can truly make a difference in the learning outcomes. My approach to teaching is a combination of grammar and vocabulary building with regular practice: conversation, listening, reading, and speaking, which not only helps you become familiar with the language but also helps your mind to take in this structure and use the language at a subliminal level. My classes are very interactive, I focus on communication skills and language fluency. I like to use audio material such as podcasts and visual material such as short films or funny sketches on YouTube. In this way, students will find it easier to memorize familiar situations. I can also teach the basics of Italian cuisine if my students are interested.

Perfect! Angela is an insightful and intelligent tutor. I started with some basic knowledge and needing to re learn many things after 4 lessons I have learned a tremendous amount of conjugations and verbs as well as fixed many things I was unsure or not confident about. So far she has been steadily giving me confidence to take on the daunting task of learning a new language. I highly recommend her for your tutoring needs.
