Where do I even begin?????

I remember being introduced to Simon and his teachings once at a class in 2016 where Simon was acting as a sub for our teacher who was off.

It was literally 1 hour and by the end of it I thought ‘who is this teacher?’ That was how much of an impact Simon and his knowledge and way of teaching/working had on me.

Fast forward to 2019, and I finally achieved one of bucket list dreams of being taught under the great Simon Furness. I studied under Simon at the Actor’s Temple for my last year. I can only describe the time with him as ‘life-changing’ and that really isn’t me exaggerating. There was Sanford Meisner, Stella Adler, Uta Hagen, Lee Strasberg. For me, there was Simon Furness.

His knowledge on acting and the techniques you will need to build up your craft is so meticulous and so extensive, that there is always still so much more to learn, even after a 4 hour class with Simon, I didn’t want to go home. I wanted to stay and learn more and absorb more. Simon will never let you slack, he isn’t concerned with ego or praising you just for the sake of getting brownie points or being liked as a teacher. So don’t go into a class with Simon, thinking it’s going to be an easy ride, because trust me, the experience will definitely be out of the realms of your comfort zone. But if you really want to GROW, then by all means continue reading below.

Simon is only concerned with your growth. And trust me when I say, after being taught by Simon, you will have grown as an actor...but only IF you put in the work. However, I must say, one of the most admirable qualities about Simon and what makes him for me a lifelong teacher...is his passion for the art of Acting. Ladies and gentleman, to have a tutor who lives and breathes and pays a particular craft the utmost respect it requires, is such an incredibly rare thing.

This takes Simon’s teaching to a whole new level that many ‘tutors’ could only dream of. If you do get a chance to be taught by Simon Furness, take it and cherish it. For it may be another 10, 50 years before an extraordinary teacher such as the likes of Simon will ever grace our presence again.

Simon is a teacher/ actor whom I’ve had the privilege to know as a teacher but also a close friend for nearly 3 years. He has elevated my acting into a realm which I didn’t believe was possible.

He is kind, patient and only wants the best out of you which is what anyone can ask for in teacher! I highly recommend him to everyone I know, as it’s a decision you will never regret. You will be transformed into a actor who will have a true understanding of the craft of theatre!

I can’t recommend Simon enough. His depth of knowledge and skill is second to none and paired which his dedication and commitment to his students makes him a rare teacher to find.

I’ve learned so much about myself as an an actor and as a human being under his supervision. I always leave class inspired to learn more, to push my limits and to delve deeper into the craft of acting. He really is the best there is.

Simon is an excellent teacher! He is one of the most inspiring and insightful tutors I've had in my journey as an actress.
His work ethic, attention to detail, and love for the craft make him a wonderful acting coach.
