About Evian
Hello! My name is Evian, and I’m a freshman in high school from Reno, NV. I love spelling, reading, writing, and grammar, as it is not only informative but also versatile, allowing me to use it anywhere and anytime. I am also a babysitter in my free time. I’m excited to start tutoring because I want to help other students discover the joy of English and achieve their highest potential in the subject! Besides that, I enjoy gaming and music (peep the Kendrick Lamar profile picture) and plan on (hopefully) creating a dance crew in the future, as I’m a self-taught dancer and have skills in management and multimedia. Furthermore, I plan to become a nurse after graduating from either a college or a program!

Although I’m new to tutoring and haven’t officially taught anyone before, I’ve conducted plenty of research to ensure that my methods are effective and engaging. I’m open to working with any student, and I understand the importance of tailoring my approach to meet individual needs.
In a typical lesson plan, I strive to create a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable and excited to learn. The very first lesson (30 minutes & online) will focus on getting to know each other and what their current study plan is, allowing me to tailor future lessons to best meet the student’s needs.
After the first lesson, the next session will be in-person and kick off with a warm-up activity, like a fun reading prompt or a short writing exercise, introducing new words that they will learn and use by the end of the lesson. We will then dive into the main lesson, honing key skills such as reading comprehension or creative writing through interactive storytelling and games. To wrap up, we’ll finish with a “goodbye sentence” that incorporates the new words learned, ensuring they can confidently use them in and out of the classroom. Together, we’ll explore the world of language while building confidence and a love for learning!
