About Marne
Hello! My name is Marné Nieuwoudt, and I am a qualified Foundation Phase teacher with a B.Ed degree, specializing in Afrikaans and early literacy development. I am passionate about helping young learners build a solid foundation in language skills through patient, engaging, and personalized tutoring. With several years of teaching experience in Grade R and early primary grades, I understand the unique needs of young children and tailor my lessons to suit each student’s learning style and pace. My approach combines structured learning with creative, fun activities that make Afrikaans accessible and enjoyable. I am fluent in both Afrikaans and English and can teach confidently in either language, depending on your child’s preference. As a qualified Foundation Phase teacher with a B.Ed degree and a deep love for Afrikaans, I create lessons that are fun, interactive, and tailored to each child’s learning style. My goal is to build confidence and a genuine love for learning, especially in Afrikaans, through engaging activities, games, and real-life connections.
I teach in both Afrikaans and English, depending on the learner’s needs, and I focus on creating a relaxed, supportive environment where students feel safe to make mistakes and grow. My approach combines structure with creativity—I use visuals, storytelling, movement, and repetition to keep young learners focused and motivated.
A typical lesson includes warm-up activities, targeted teaching based on your child’s level, and fun, practical exercises to reinforce new concepts. I also give helpful feedback and tips for learning at home.
My lessons are ideal for young learners in the Foundation Phase (Grade R–3), whether they need extra help, want to build their Afrikaans skills, or simply benefit from one-on-one attention. I am patient, enthusiastic, and truly passionate about helping children thrive.
