About Maryam
Hi! My name is Maryam, and I'm an English language teacher from the Greater Toronto Area. I have an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Toronto and a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from York University.
As an ESL teacher, I've helped beginner, intermediate, and advanced students improve their reading, writing, listening, speaking, and communication skills through engaging lessons. I have also helped students reach their academic and professional language goals through student-centered Business and Medical English classes.
In addition to teaching, I'm also a language arts, humanities, and social studies tutor with 5+ years of experience supporting elementary, middle, high school, college, and university students. I have extensive experience helping students understand course content, complete homework, and prepare for tests leading to noticeable improvements in their grades.
When I'm not teaching or tutoring, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, learning languages, reading, doing yoga, and watching reality television.
