About Michael
I am passionate about teaching because I believe that strong communication skills can transform a person’s life. English is the key to success in education, employment, and everyday relationships. Whether you want to improve your speaking, writing, reading, pronunciation, or confidence, I enjoy helping students develop practical skills that open new opportunities.
I particularly enjoy working with students from diverse backgrounds, including migrants and international students who are learning English for life in Australia. I understand that learning a new language can be challenging, but I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing in confidence.

My teaching methodology combines explicit instruction, guided practice, and constructive feedback. I begin by diagnosing a student’s current level of understanding and then break complex concepts into manageable steps. In English, this may involve modelling how to analyse texts, structure essays, improve expression, and develop stronger arguments. I use questioning techniques to encourage critical thinking and ensure students actively engage with the material rather than passively receiving information. Lessons are structured, goal-oriented, and paced according to the student’s progress.
