I have over six years of tutoring experience across Key Stage 3, GCSE and A-Level, specialising in Biology and Chemistry. I have also supported students in KS3 and GCSE Maths and Geography. Alongside tutoring, I spent three years conducting Biology and Chemistry research at the University of Oxford, following a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Manchester and a Master’s in Biochemistry from the University of Bristol. I currently work as a consultant in the biological sciences.
My approach is centred on making course material clear, digestible and engaging, while adapting lessons to the individual understanding and needs of each pupil. I place a strong emphasis on building a solid understanding of the course content, as I believe this provides the best foundation for achieving a pupil’s target grade.
Alongside understanding the material, I focus closely on exam technique and provide tailored practice, including working through past papers and exam-style questions. I aim to create a friendly and approachable environment where pupils feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building their confidence as they progress.
