About WY
I am a native Mandarin speaker with a deep passion for cross-cultural communication. My move to Christchurch was driven by my family’s academic pursuit—my partner is currently completing a PhD in Education at the University of Canterbury. This connection to advanced educational research keeps me inspired and informed about the most effective ways to teach and support learners.
I want to teach because I love seeing the "aha!" moment when a student finally grasps a complex tone or character. I am patient, organized, and dedicated to helping the Christchurch community connect with Chinese culture and language in a meaningful way.
