About Marilyn
I am a retired classroom teacher who has spent the last fifteen years working with adult students to learn the English language, study for GED, and study for the Canadian citizenship test. Since Covid 19 hit, I have been tutoring online using Zoom and Whats App. I also really enjoy and understand children.

I use an engage, teach/study/practice and activate method. That method includes starting by showing the student the necessity and use for learning this concept by using a fun video, word game, or some other activity, then teaching and giving the student opportunity to learn the concept. The last part of the lesson is to activate or give the student a way to put the concept into practical use. This can be done in class or more likely as homework. The activate portion will be monitored and the student's full understanding will be assessed and taken into account when planning future lessons. This can also apply to a group of students.

Details
If I am tutoring a younger student for whom a half hour lesson is suitable, my rate will be $7.50.
I will tutor up to four students at a time and then my rate will increase by $10.00 a student per hour.
