About Rowan
With over 5 years of tutoring experience and a Master’s degree in Nanophysics, I specialize in helping students approach physics through both analytical thinking and computational tools. I believe physics becomes much clearer when theory is supported by simulations and data analysis. That is why my teaching integrates computational physics and programming from the beginning.
Students in my sessions learn how to use Python for scientific computing, simulations, and numerical problem solving. We explore numerical methods used to model physical systems such as motion, waves, and quantum effects. Learning through projects is an important part of the process. Students often build small simulations or analyze datasets from real experiments.
I also work with university students and researchers who want to strengthen their computational workflows. Many need help applying programming to their physics studies. I guide them step by step. My aim is to develop independent thinkers who can use computational tools confidently while maintaining a strong understanding of physical principles.

My teaching approach focuses on building deep understanding and strong exam performance in physics. We begin by reviewing key topics from AP Physics such as mechanics, work and energy, waves, circuits, and magnetism. Concepts are explained clearly using simple examples. Mathematics is also integrated into every lesson.
Students learn how equations describe physical systems. Algebra, trigonometry, and sometimes calculus are used to support the physics ideas.
Practice plays a big role in learning. I use targeted drills and topic-based exercises to improve problem-solving skills. Students also complete timed practice tests similar to AP exams.
We discuss strategies for handling difficult questions and managing time during exams. Confidence grows with practice and understanding. By the time the exam arrives, students feel prepared and ready to perform at their best.
