About Ellie
Hi I'm Ellie!
I am passionate about making History engaging and accessible, helping students build both subject knowledge and confidence in their abilities. I understand that every student learns differently, so I aim to create a supportive and positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills.
Outside of teaching, my background in Law and History has helped me develop strong communication, organisation and critical thinking skills, which I bring into my tutoring sessions to help students succeed both academically and personally.

I offer online History tutoring for students in KS2, KS3 and KS4, tailoring lessons to suit each student’s needs, confidence levels and learning style. My teaching approach focuses on building understanding first, helping students develop historical knowledge, source analysis and exam skills in a supportive environment. I use a range of techniques including retrieval practice, scaffolded activities, model answers, questioning and regular recap activities to help students retain information and build confidence over time.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, although shorter or longer sessions can be discussed depending on age and individual needs.
I am currently completing a PGCE in Secondary History at Durham University (1st) and hold a 2:1 LLB Law degree from Newcastle University. Alongside this, I have classroom teaching experience across KS2, KS3 and KS4, giving me experience adapting explanations and activities for different ages and abilities.
My lessons are suitable for students looking for general support, help building confidence in History, improving exam technique, or preparing for assessments and GCSE exams.
