Online Grinds for Leaving Cert & Junior Cycle Music with SEC examination experience

Laura took me on for music grinds the summer before 6th year and completely shifted my view on music as a subject. Laura is a trustworthy tutor because she knows exactly how to play to each students strengths. She walks you through the exam paper and helps you understand how to approach each individual question. Laura also takes the time to listen to your practical pieces and helps you enhance your performance. Laura helped me gain confidence in my musical abilities and if it weren’t for her, I would never have received a H1 in music which was something I had always wanted.

I was really happy with Laura as my music and grinds teacher. She always made the effort and I could tell she actually cared about how I was doing — it never felt like she was just in it for the money.

She made a study plan just for me and gave me practice tests that focused on the parts I found hardest. I always struggled with the melody question, but she broke it down and gave me a structure that was easy to follow, which helped a lot.

For the practical, she encouraged me to include more variety to build my confidence. By the time my music exam came around, I felt way more prepared and way less nervous than usual.

In the end, I got a H2 and I definitely don’t think I would’ve gotten that without her help.
