About Alec
Hello! My name is Alec and I am a Year 13 student currently completing A Levels including an AS Mathematics course. I have been teaching younger children for the last 4 years with approximately 300 hours teaching experience. I hold extensive training and qualifications in teaching and instruction provided by the Royal Air Force. I am a very passionate teacher with a knack for helping students to understand that which they struggle with. Within mathematics one of the common issues students face is despite being capable at applying the methodology, they lack the understanding of the purpose or intention of the question which can lead to poor recall in exams. I help students to understand what they are accomplishing in completing maths questions which is proven to assist with exam performance.

These lessons are aimed at any GCSE maths students completing the Edexcel course aged years 9-11 (14-16). I can cover any area chosen by the student in complete detail. I focus on helping students to understand the purpose and effect of Maths which greatly supports students who tend to easily forget mathematical processes or simply 'not-get' maths. I hold a Grade 8 Qualification in Edexcel GCSE Maths I am studying for an AS Maths qualification working at Grade A I average 97% within AS Maths on papers. The AS Maths course I am taking is very similar to that of the GCSE courses especially Edexcel. Despite my age I have over 4 years of teaching and leadership experience within the RAF Air Cadet organisation in which I have been instructing a variety of topics to children aged 12-16 consistently since 2021. I also hold unofficial teaching qualifications provided by the RAF as well as leadership qualifications. Lessons may be 30 minutes - 1 hour.
