Before talking about Prashant Sir's Tabla skills, I would like to say that what stood out in Prashant is absolute, uncompromising honesty and integrity. This is not a business for him but a natural extension of his passion. Coming back to his teaching skills - Prashant is amazingly skilful Tabla player and also a very good teacher. I have been learning Tabla from Prashant for more than 2 years now. I am doing online class but we meet once in a while for an in person class. The class timings are flexible and date and time is decided based on mutually convinient time. It gives you flexibility but it also means that there can be uneven gap between classes. This is fine especially as you grow in skills. You have much more to do and practise and can use extra gap to do that. Prashant gives enough time and attention to individual student. He is quick to spot and correct mistakes. For me the class began with Teen Taal and its basic Tukadas. As the class progresses you will get to learn Kayadas and assocciated Palatas and Tihai and progressively advanced Tukadas. The advantage of starting with this classical approach is that it will help you develop “vajan”, clarity and sense of rhythm followed by speed. Prashant helps you in this journey by being patient with you correcting you and encouraging you. I would highy recommend Prashant to anyone who wants to start learning Tabla irrespective of age. By the way I am in my fifties and started my Tabla journey in late 40s.

Prashant sir is one of the finest tabla teacher. I have been learning tabla with him for more than 6 months and found him to be a best guru who constantly motivates and bring you to the perfection.
