About Greta
I’m a chess tutor with over 5 years of experience and a strong foundation in both teaching and game analysis. I specialize in working with middle school students, introducing them to the exciting world of chess through clear, engaging lessons. I love showing how the board becomes a battlefield of strategy and imagination. To make learning fun and relatable, I use puzzles, storytelling, and real-game scenarios that connect with students’ interests. Whether it’s learning how knights jump or how to build a winning checkmate, every lesson is hands-on and interactive. I incorporate safe, simple board exercises and even use online tools to keep students practicing between lessons. My teaching approach for chess focuses on building strong foundational understanding and pattern recognition. I guide students through key topics like piece movement, tactics, board control, and endgame strategy with a clear, step-by-step method. I believe in active visual learning—using diagrams, annotated games, and interactive tools to help students truly see the logic behind each move.
We explore openings, positional play, and calculation techniques to develop both strategic and tactical thinking. I’m especially skilled at working with The Future Grandmaster and The Young Analyst, offering steady support as they sharpen their intuition and game awareness. My lessons are personalized to match each student's level, whether they're learning basic checkmates or complex middlegame plans.
I help students understand how principles like material balance, king safety, and center control relate to real-game situations. We’ll also look at famous games, study blunders, and practice timed challenges to improve decision-making. Through regular practice and feedback, students develop confidence and discipline at the board.
You’ll learn to think ahead, adapt, and stay calm under pressure. Chess becomes more than a game—it becomes a skill set for life. Together, we’ll unlock your potential and enjoy the process of mastering the art of chess thinking.
