About Ava
Hello! I’m Ava Morgan, and I’m so happy to welcome you to my Math learning space! I’m based in New York City, and I graduated from New York University (NYU) with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. I have 8 years of one-to-one tutoring experience, working with K-12 students from different academic levels and learning styles!
My tutoring journey started when I volunteered to help younger students with Math homework during university. I quickly discovered how rewarding it was to watch a student move from “I cannot do this” to “Let me try it myself!” That experience shaped the positive and motivational way I teach today!
I have supported students with school Math, challenging assignments, test preparation, advanced topics, and confidence building. I enjoy finding the explanation that finally makes a difficult idea click!
My teaching philosophy is simple: progress does not have to happen all at once. I celebrate small improvements and help students understand that mistakes are part of becoming stronger at Math!

Welcome to my Math lesson! I create energetic, encouraging, and fully personalized one-to-one lessons for K-12 students who want to improve their Math skills and believe more strongly in their own abilities!
I begin by understanding what the student already knows, what feels difficult, and what they want to accomplish. Then I create a learning path that matches their school level and personal pace!
For elementary students, I make numbers exciting through puzzles, patterns, money examples, measurements, shapes, and simple challenges! Middle school learners can strengthen fractions, percentages, ratios, equations, geometry, statistics, and algebra through guided practice and practical situations!
High school students can receive support with algebra, geometry, trigonometry, functions, probability, statistics, pre-calculus, and introductory calculus! I also provide focused preparation for school examinations and important academic deadlines!
I use real-life examples such as planning a trip, comparing prices, understanding sports statistics, designing rooms, measuring distances, and interpreting information from graphs! These examples help students recognize that Math is useful far beyond the classroom!
I also provide assignment assistance, homework guidance, revision sessions, practice questions, and progress tracking! Rather than solving every problem for the student, I give helpful clues and gradually allow them to take control of the solution!
During every session, I encourage students to explain their thinking, ask questions, correct mistakes, and celebrate improvements! I can adjust the pace immediately when a learner needs more practice or introduce a harder challenge when they are ready!
My goal is to build more than better grades. I want students to develop patience, logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the confidence to face a difficult Math question without giving up!
