About Rebecca
As an NYU grad (with honors) and daughter of a writer and English professor, I am well aware of how important it is to understand, analyze, and be able to communicate the English language to the fullest extent. No easy task! But something that permeates many aspects of our daily lives.
However, everyone starts somewhere. What's more important than having perfect grammar from the get-go is the willingness and drive to improve. If you have that mindset, there is nothing we can't do to help you achieve your goals.

My approach as a tutor is entirely need based. Once the focus has been made clear, I can form a lesson plan that drives home whatever it is you are hoping to achieve. Each plan will include some form of reading, questions, and brief but thoughtful homework outside of the lesson.
The ultimate goal is to get you thinking differently than before you started. To have you encounter a complex piece of literature, a difficult grammatical rule, or a tricky set of SAT questions, and have an idea of where to start based on the tools I've given you.
Primarily, I am best suited for students aged 10 or more in a wide breadth of subjects (reading, language arts, English, American or British literature, Essay writing, SAT prep, etc).

When we worked together at internet start-up Open Exchange, Rebecca was always the supervisor that people first went to with problems. She’s wise beyond her years, patient, and a great communicator. She has worked as a nanny in NYC for several years now so she’s great with kids, and also great with managing adults (as I learned in our time working together).
