About Tyliyah
Hi! My name is Tyliyah, and I am currently a BSN student and Student Nurse Extern with hands-on experience in hospital and clinical settings, including HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest and Memorial Hermann Southwest. I am passionate about healthcare, learning, and helping others succeed academically and professionally.
Throughout nursing school, I have developed strong skills in communication, patient care, time management, critical thinking, and teamwork. I have also been recognized for academic excellence with multiple Dean’s List honors.
My long-term goal is to become an ICU/Critical Care nurse because I am passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients during some of their most vulnerable moments.
As a tutor, I strive to create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I aim to explain concepts in a clear, patient, and encouraging way. I am committed to helping students not only improve academically but also feel more confident in their abilities.

Hi, I'm Tyliyah! As a nursing student who has sat in your exact seat, I know that Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathophysiology can feel like learning a foreign language while being hit by a firehose of information.
My approach moves away from "brute-force" memorization. Instead, I focus on Clinical Correlation. We don't just memorize the parts of the kidney; we discuss why a patient’s blood pressure drops when those parts fail. By connecting the "what" (Anatomy) to the "how" (Physiology) and the "broken" (Pathophysiology), the information sticks because it finally makes sense. I use a mix of active recall, custom-drawn visual flows, and nursing mnemonics that I personally use in clinical rotations.
Typical Lesson Plan:
The "Check-In" (5 Mins): We identify the specific "muddy points" from your recent lectures or upcoming exam blueprints.
Visual Mapping (20 Mins): We draw out the physiological process (e.g., the RAA System or Cardiac Output) together. If you can draw it, you know it.
The "Nursing Why" (15 Mins): We apply that concept to a real-world patient scenario. This is where we bridge the gap between the textbook and the exam.
Active Testing (15 Mins): We practice NCLEX-style or HESI-style questions to ensure you can apply the knowledge under pressure.
The Game Plan (5 Mins): I provide a "Study Roadmap" for you to follow until our next session.
What sets me apart is that I am currently "in the trenches" of healthcare. I don’t just teach from a book; I teach from experience. I can tell you how a pathophysiological concept looks when you’re standing at a patient's bedside in a Houston hospital. I specialize in helping students overcome test anxiety by teaching them how to deconstruct complex questions and find the "stem" of what the professor is actually asking.
Who These Lessons Are For:
My lessons are specifically designed for:
Pre-Nursing Students fighting to get into competitive programs by completing the required courses (A&P I & II).
Nursing Students currently struggling with the "Patho-Anatomy" hurdle.
Healthcare Students (PTA, OTA, Respiratory Tech) who need to master the human body.
Anyone preparing for the HESI A2 or TEAS entrance exams.
