About Lucy
My name is Lucy, and I am an experienced nurse educator with a strong background in helping nursing students build confidence in Fundamentals, Med Surg, prioritization, and case-based nursing questions. I understand that nursing school can feel overwhelming, so my goal is to explain difficult concepts in a clear, supportive, and organized way. I take professionalism seriously and create a respectful learning environment where students can ask questions, strengthen their understanding, and feel more prepared for class, clinical, and exams.

My name is Lucy, and my tutoring approach is clear, supportive, and easy to follow. I help nursing students understand Fundamentals and Med Surg by breaking difficult topics into simple steps and using patient scenarios, practice questions, prioritization, and rationale review. A typical lesson includes a quick review of the student’s concerns, focused topic teaching, case-based practice, and a short study plan for continued improvement. What sets me apart is my experience as a nurse educator and my ability to help students move beyond memorization so they can understand what is happening with the patient and choose the safest nursing action. These lessons are for nursing students in ADN, ASN, BSN, and related nursing programs who need support with Fundamentals, Med Surg, test-taking, prioritization, and patient-based questions.

I was lucky to have Dr. Mensah as my clinical instructor for two semesters, and she truly made a lasting impact on my nursing journey. She is intelligent, thoughtful, and always brought such positive energy to clinical. Her passion for nursing and teaching shines through in everything she does. She had a way of challenging us to think critically without ever making us feel intimidated. I’m truly grateful for her guidance, encouragement, and the confidence she helped me build as I begin my nursing career.
I met professor Mensah during my first semester of nursing school and she has been there for me even after we had parted ways. She is still one of the most intelligent, knowledgeable and caring people I have ever met. The way she handles patient scenarios and teaches is one of the efficient and effective ways to learn because of how much she makes you think outside the box. She will always put her students first and our entire class will always appreciate how much she has looked after us and taught us. She will always try to get the best out of you. Professor Mensah always finds ways to bring the best out of you while doing it in a respectful, positive and loving way.
Professor Mensah was my clinical instructor for fundamentals and she was by far one of the best instructors I’ve ever had. She makes sure to break down every single process you encounter and helps to walk you through things such as which lab values indicate which diseases. She helped me flourish through my nursing classes and was extremely supportive and encouraging.
Dr. Mensah has been an incredible inspiration and support in my nursing education. She was my nursing clinical professor. She taught and encouraged me to desire to understand a patient and disease process by knowing how to connect signs and symptoms with the knowledge of multiple nursing disciplines and evidence-based practices.
I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to learn from her. I did not just learn nursing practice but life lessons in how she treated and spoke with everyone around her. She carries a passion and joy for nursing and desires the best for her students. She is not just a nurse but an excellent educator and has a passion for learning.
The best educators are the ones who enjoy learning and enjoy thinking. She is an educator that understands that learning never ends and walks with humility. With this quality, her students can be guaranteed to receive the best and be encouraged to learn and be their very best. She is the best of the best.Dr. Mensah was my clinical instructor for Fundamentals of Nursing, which was my very first experience in a hospital setting. Her clear, compassionate, and effective learning approach gave me the absolute foundation I needed to excel in nursing school and beyond. I would not be the nurse I am today without her mentorship.
She is not only extremely knowledgeable, but patient, approachable, and warm. She truly cares about the success of each one of her students. If you are in need of extra help in nursing school, I have no doubt that Dr. Mensah will help you succeed! She is the kind of mentor who will help you master the material and feel truly confident in your skills.Dr. Mensah was my clinical instructor at Adelphi University. Her knowledge in nursing is one I would never forget. She is very particular with her expectations, but as nursing students it’s exactly what we need to be part of this field. She has taught me not only important nursing pointers, but pointers in life as well. I could not have asked for a better clinical instructor in my earlier nursing years.
I was fortunate to have Dr. Mensah as one of my mentors. She is extremely kind and ensures that every student fully understands the concepts she teaches. She consistently encourages nursing students to think critically, analyze clinical situations, and carefully evaluate plans of action. Dr. Mensah helps students develop confidence in their knowledge and abilities!!!
Dr. M was my clinical instructor for my Med Surg II clinical rotation. She is incredibly helpful in keeping you motivated and helping you realize that you can strive for more than what you already have. She gives amazing mnemonics and stories that correlate to help you understand the concepts. I remember when she was there guiding me through an I.V. setup for a patient. She is patient and encourages you to think before making a choice. She will always encourage you to think and formulate an answer before she gives you the answer.
Dr. Mensah was my clinical instructor for my med-surg 2 rotation. She was incredibly informative and welcoming and always urged us to use our critical thinking skills. The information she has taught me has really stuck with me even after all this time. I recommend her to any nursing student that may be struggling.
I have had the pleasure to know Dr. Mensah as a nursing clinical instructor and mentor. Dr. Mensah is able to turn complex nursing topics into digestible material for students to remember. During my fundamentals of nursing semester, Dr. Mensah broke down the complex systems of a head-to-toe assessment into a quick and easy process. With her patience and kindness, she fosters a judgment-free learning environment and encourages students to learn from their mistakes. If a student does not understand the material at first, she works endlessly to figure out different techniques and strategies to aid in their learning comprehension. Dr. Mensah goes above and beyond for her students because she deeply cares about them and their futures. Dr. Mensah is the perfect choice for your journey through nursing school!
Professor Mensah is truly an incredible teacher and an even better person. I had the privilege of having her as my nursing clinical instructor, and I always looked forward to clinicals because she made learning enjoyable. Her teaching style evoked critical thinking, and she consistently weaved in NCLEX key points. The questions she asked allowed me to connect small details to the bigger picture of patient care. She covered all aspects of nursing in her lessons, from pathophysiology to psychosocial care. When I struggled with concepts, Professor Mensah was patient and guided me until I was confident. She has truly shaped me as a future nurse, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking to strengthen their nursing knowledge and skills.
Professor Lucy Mensah was my clinical instructor for my Adult Health 2 clinical rotation. Not only did she provide an abundance of helpful information to make sure my classmates and I were successful throughout our rotation, she also instilled confidence in us to reach our best potential. She helped me enhance my role in the health care field and I will always thank her for it.
There is no doubt that Dr. Mensah is the best professor I have had! She was my clinical professor at Molloy University during Med-Surg II. After having her, my knowledge, confidence, and clinical judgment grew tremendously. She creates a supportive learning environment while also challenging her students to think critically and provide safe, compassionate patient care.

After having her for just one semester, she was absolutely incredible and she will forever leave a mark on my nursing journey! She is so kind, patient, and makes nursing so much fun! I was able to learn so much from her as a Professor, and would take her again if I could.
Dr. Mensah was my clinical professor for Med-Surg, and she was amazing. She created a great learning environment, and I learned so much with her. If you didn't understand a topic, she would explain it further and make sure you left clinical an expert in that topic. She has so much knowledge in the field of nursing, and it shows. She would sit one-on-one with you to make sure you understand, give constructive feedback, and her knowledge helped me do well on my tests and nursing skills. Again, I can confidently say this is one of the best professors I've had and would love to have her again and again.
